Awesome Financial Testimonies! Share Your’s and Read Others!

Testimony = Evidence in support of a fact or statement

Over the last two years and especially 90 days, I’ve read about and heard many stories of people who were up against insurmountable financial odds and overcame them!  I love hearing about these stories because it’s so encouraging to hear how faithful God is and how he gets involved in our personal lives!

The last 2-3 years have been some of the hardest financial times that we have seen collectively as a population!  But one thing I know is that God is faithful!  During hard financial times my family and I have seen God do everything from having people bless us with a bag of groceries, when we had no grocery money! To paying off over $30,000 in debt, when we didn’t have the money!!!  And everything in between! Just as much as I love hearing others testimonies, I love sharing mine and you should feel the same way!

Why Share Your Testimony

Don’t be ashamed to share your testimony!  You’re not bragging about you, you’re bragging about what God can do!  And yes you will have haters out there that will talk about you but don’t focus on them.  Focus on that man or woman that’s about to commit suicide because they feel there’s no hope. Focus on that boy or girl that is depressed because their family has no food on the table or shoes on their feet.  Focus on the individual who has no relationship with Jesus.  Forget about the haters and focus on the potential people that your testimony is going to bless!

6 Reasons To Share Your Testimony

Read the scripture below and let it take root in your heart:

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. -Revelation 12:11

  1. Your testimony encourages other to hold on that might be getting ready to give up!
  2. Your testimony takes the attention off of you and your situation and brings glory to God!
  3. Your testimony is the proof and evidence of your faith!
  4. In the future your testimony will be a great reminder for you, if you ever go thru the same thing again!
  5. Your testimony brings joy and hope to others!
  6. Your testimony helps defeat the enemy and reminds you that he is defeated and you have the ultimate victory through Jesus Christ!

What’s Your Testimony?

I’d love to hear about a financial testimony that you’ve experienced!  Whether it seems big or small, please feel free to share.  Honestly I don’t believe in big or small testimonies because what’s small to one might be big to another person!

Please share your testimony below in the comments and encourage your friends to share theirs.  Remember your testimony could be the one thing that someone needs to here to keep them from giving up!

Testimony Examples:  Getting a job, favor with a creditor, being blessed with food, debt cancellation, money, favor ect.

Last May my wife and I made a leap of faith and began our transition from Charlotte, NC to Charleston, SC for her to attend graduate school. I'd been an avid fan of Dave Ramsey and was applying many of his principals to our finances and things were going very well for us.
She began class in July and I continued to work and commute every weekend from NC. I did this from August until January. In January we joined a local church we'd been attending on the weekends in Charleston and things began to go downhill... or so it seemed. The week after joining the ministry my job laid off 30% of the employees. Those of us remained had our salaries reduced by 20-30%. It was now becoming unsustainable to continue commuting from a city 200 miles away and my profession was the most impacted by the recession (40% of architects in Charlotte were unemployed.)
We adjusted our budget and were still able to make it and give according to the mandate of the Bible. Just when I least expected it, my job laid me off in March. I packed up my things from Charlotte and immediately intensified my job search in Charleston. I had no interviews or prospects or over 3 months because the Charleston construction/design profession was just as bad or worse than that of Charlotte. In June the Lord laid on my heart to give 1000 dollars to our church's building project and my wife was in total agreement. I committed to do it on a Friday and we gave from our savings that Sunday. Remember, I was unemployed with no prospects. My wife was a student and I had exhausted all of my leads. That Monday was Labor Day. That Tuesday morning I got a call from a prominent international company asking me for an interview! It doesn't take God long at all! I interviewed that Thursday and was offered a Senior level job 2 weeks later, making almost twice as much as I made at my previous company!
Giving is key! Faithfulness is key! Consistency is key! Attitude is key! Integrity is key! I have learned that these are critical to being a good steward.
I believe this is only the beginning as my wife and I seek to live and give like no one else.
  • What an awesome testimony! You said many key things! You and your wife stayed in agreement! You didn't sit back and just wait for something to fall into your lap, you were diligent in your job search! When you gave it sounds like you were giving out of the compassion of your heart and to help your church expand. Many people would call that foolish given your circumstance! Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
  • Awesome idea Carlos! I was blessed to discover Dave Ramsey's teachings about 4 years ago before I was married. Debt had never been a problem in my life, but I did spend a fair amount of time paying off some cars. Although my journey out of debt hasn't been incredible, the part that came after sure has been!

Being debt free has been an unbelievable blessing to my marriage. It's helped us grow closer and forced us to work together to remain debt free. I can't imaging how hard being a newlywed would be if we weren't able to talk about money.

For me the best parts were realized later. What I got from becoming debt free was worth many many times more then the dollars used to pay off the debt. It taught me how to be intentional with money and with my future and that habit has permeated every part of my life. The journey is worth it!
  • Thanks for your financial testimony! The journey is definitely with it!
